Florence is always a delight – on this trip we got to spend time with our wonderful scarf manufacturers to finalise the process for creating our printed cashmere-blend super-sized scarves. It actually all starts in another magnificent city, Como, the global capital of silk printing, with a silk industry dating back to the 14th century – but more on that city another time. Once the scarves are printed they make their way to a little town outside of Florence where artisans carefully hand fringe the edges and then apply a natural soft finish, to achieve that slightly vintaged look we love.

Banqueting and imbibing are always a highlight in this wondrous city – this time we went back to tried and true favourite Cibreo (via A. del Verrocchio 8r–details) . Chef Fabio Picchi must be a carb-phobe just like us, as he is famous for never doing pasta dishes. His inventive takes on Tuscan classics are always amazing and this time we loved the stuffed zucchini flowers and seppie in inzimino. The next morning an early run was in order and it was wonderful to view the sights with ne’er a tourist in sight – heaven !
